Due to the concerns of the spread of the novel Coronavirus COVID-19, the MGC Board of Directors (BOD) together with the Maize Genetics Meeting Steering Committee (MGMSC) have decided to cancel the 2020 Maize Genetics Meeting.

You are invited to attend the 62nd Annual Maize Genetics Meeting. The Meeting will be held March 12-15, 2020, at the Sheraton Kona of Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi, USA.

The Meeting will open with a Thursday evening meal, March 12 and close at noon Sunday, March 15.

Join researchers in Kailua-Kona, to:

  • Listen to invited talks in genetics and plant biology given by internationally renowned scientists
  • Learn the most current scientific and technical advances in maize genetics
  • Participate in sessions with broad subject areas to stimulate new ideas and share with your lab
  • Network with potential collaborators at meals, poster sessions and evening mixers
  • Present your latest research in a poster or oral presentation

The McClintock Prize awardee:

Dr. Jim Birchler, the 2020 McClintock Prize awardee, will present his work at this year's Maize Genetics Meeting. Additionally, the MGEC will be presenting an early career, mid-career, and Emerson award.

Feb 27: Due to the concerns of the spread of the novel Coronavirus COVID-19, the MGC Board of Directors (BOD) together with the Maize Genetics Meeting Steering Committee (MGMSC) have decided to cancel the 2020 Maize Genetics Meeting.
 
Jan 21: Talk submissions are closed, but you may submit a poster abstract until Jan 24!
 
Jan 16: Notice! If you don't have approval to register for the conference yet, then please proceed with submitting an abstract by the deadlines. If you're unable to receive approval by late Feb then we will pull your abstract from the program.
